...And Out Come the Wolves - Rancid (AotW#3)

Post by Splasher on Sat Nov 10, 2012 4:15 am

Album of the Week #3

This week's album of the week is the 1995 release from Rancid; ...And Out Come the Wolves as suggested by Leonie.

This album was Rancid's third album and helped revive mainstream popular interest in punk rock in the mid-1990s. The album was a massive success for the band, being certified platinum in 2004, making them possibly the most popular American punk rock band to be signed onto an independent record label. The music combines punk rock with the ska punk that Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman's pervious band, Operation Ivy, had perfected years before.

Singles

Roots Radical

Time Bomb

Ruby Soho

Personal Standouts

Honestly, I'm not familiar enough with the album to have any personal favourites, but after giving the whole album a listen, I've got to say, I'll definitely have a few in a few days. The first thing that caught my eye from this album was it's cover, which is inspired by Minor Threat's self-titled compilation album

Any suggestions for next week's AotW?
